UFC heavyweight Marcin Tybura will try for four wins in a row versus Greg Hardy on December 19.
At UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen in October top Polish heavyweight Marcin Tybura took a unanimous decision win over Ben Rothwell. That was his third win in a row, with victories over Maxim Grishin and Sergey Spivak coming also in 2020.
Tybura has a crack to go 4-0 in 2020 on December 19th at a UFC Fight Night card scheduled to be headlined by Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev. At this event, according to MMA Junkie, Tybura is scheduled to face Greg Hardy.
Prior to finding his form in 2020, Tybura had a forgettable 2019—losing to both Augusto Sakai and Shamil Abdurakhimov by strikes. A year earlier he went 1-1 with a win over Stefan Struve and a loss to Derrick Lewis.
Tybura has been with the UFC since 2016 and has a record of 7-5 with the promotion (20-6 overall).
Hardy’s last fight was also in October. At UFC Fight Night: Hall vs. Silva he beat Maurice Greene by TKO. This year Hardy also beaten Yorgan de Castro by unanimous decision.
Hardy debuted for the UFC in 2019 and competed five times that year. He debuted with a DQ loss to Allen Crowder, then beat both Dmitry Smolyakov and Juan Adams before taking a no contest to Ben Sosoli. He lost to Alexander Volkov to finish the year.
Prior to joining the UFC Hardy played in the NFL. His NFL career ended in 2014 after a judge found him guilty of assaulting a former girlfriend and threatening to kill her. Hardy was sentenced to 18 months of probation and given a suspended 60-day jail sentence.
Hardy appealed this decision and requested a jury trial. Prosecutors later dropped the charges against Hardy when they failed to locate his original accuser. Prosecutors said they also dropped the charges because they had received reliable information that the accuser and Hardy had reached a civil settlement.
