Tyler Stinson wins Bellator open tryout, earns spot on Bellator 16 card

Tyler Stinson bested a field of 72 fighters – some of whom had experience with the WEC, IFL and other top promotions – and won Bellator Fighting Championships’ open tryout this past weekend in Kansas City, Mo.

The 24-year-old Kansas native owns a 16-5 professional record and now earns a spot on Bellator 16, which takes place April 29 in Kansas City.

Stinson edged 27-year-old Leonardo Pecanha (11-6), who’s impressive showing could earn him a spot on a May Bellator card, the promotion today announced.
