Tyron Woodley Reacts To GSP’s Reported Retirement | UFC Betting Sites

Tyron Woodley hopes he gets to cross paths with Georges St-Pierre one day.

It has been reported that St-Pierre will announce his retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA) during a press conference tomorrow. Since Woodley, the current 170-pound champion of the UFC, never got to fight him in the Octagon, he hopes they can get some work in the gym together.

Responding to Ariel Helwani’s Instagram post regarding the news, Woodley commented with the following:

“Just had a vision of calling him out after my next fight @arielhelwani. Congrats to one of the Greatest!” The welterweight champ then said he’d like to test himself against “GSP” in the gym:

“@georgesstpierre since we will never cross paths in the octagon would love to do so in the gym! Would be an honor. You have had the best run of any fighter to grace the caged canvas!”

Georges St-Pierre will officially announce his retirement from MMA tomorrow morning at a press conference in Montreal, multiple sources told ESPN. GSP had hoped to secure a super-fight w/ Khabib. Once that didn’t materialize, he decided it was time to walk away. I spoke to GSP today He didn’t want to go into too much details. I asked about @khabib_nurmagomedov‘s offer to stick around and he said: “I saw what Khabib wrote, and I appreciate it very much. Unfortunately, these decisions aren’t up to us. I will address everything at the press conference tomorrow.”

Woodley is currently preparing to defend his welterweight championship. He will face Kamaru Usman in the co-main event of UFC 235 on pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 2, 2019.

The card is headlined by a UFC light heavyweight championship fight between Jon Jones and Anthony Smith.
