Former welterweight champions Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler will rematch in the main event of UFC Fight Night on June 29 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The news was first reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto and later confirmed with UFC President Dana White. Verbal agreements were reportedly agreed upon. The event will air on ESPN.
Woodley, 36, recently lost his title to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235. “The Chosen One” isn’t wasting any time getting back in the Octagon as he will meet the man he first took the title from back in July of 2016.
As for the 37-year-old Lawler, he is also coming off of a loss at the same PPV earlier this month. Although “Ruthless” lost a rather controversial fight to Ben Askren, he physically never looked better.
The fight was the first that is announced for the UFC on ESPN 4 card that is scheduled for June 29 from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
