Tyrone Spong is back.

“The King of the Ring” will return to the MMA cage at World Series of Fighting 22 on Aug. 1 in Las Vegas, WSOF executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz told MMAFighting.com on Tuesday. The three-sport star’s opponent is yet to be determined, but he’ll be competing for WSOF for the first time since August 2013.

Spong (2-0) is best known for his GLORY exploits — he’s one of the best kickboxers in the world. The Suriname native also won his first two pro boxing matches back in March. Spong has been recovering from a broken leg he sustained during a GLORY fight with Gokhan Saki in April 2014. He has yet to return to the GLORY ring.

The Blackzilians standout, though, will be back in MMA this summer. Spong, 29, has won both of his WSOF light heavyweight bouts thus far, the first by highlight-reel, first-round knockout at the organization’s inaugural show in November 2012.

WSOF 22 is headlined by a welterweight title fight between champion Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields. Also on the card will be a bantamweight title matchup between champion Marlon Moraes and Sheymon Moraes (no relation). The event will take place at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
