The eight-round boxing exhibition bout between “sweet science” legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., previously scheduled for Sept. 12 in “The Golden State,” has been postponed until Nov. 28, according to The Athletic.
The event is expected to remain at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
No reason for the postponement was given and considering how many variables are involved with this circus, including but not limited to COVID-19 and old age, there could be any number of reasons behind the pay-per-view (PPV) pause.
Tyson, 54, has not competed since his Kevin McBride loss way back in 2005, but recent videos of the “Iron” man pounding the pads has renewed interest in his boxing return. As for Jones Jr., 51, his last bout was a decision victory over Scott Sigmon in early 2018.
Joining them on the PPV undercard is YouTube personality Jake Paul, who fights former NBA star Nate Robinson, assuming the embattled Paul doesn’t get himself into any more trouble between now and then.
See you in November!
