SAN JOSE, Calif. – Moments after the punch landed, a floored Jason Brilz could do little but curse his bad luck and slap the mat.
Light-heavyweight opponent Ryan Bader clipped him with a straight right that caught him above the ear, and Brilz crashed to the mat and suffered a tough-luck first-round knockout loss.
The UFC 139 bout was the second of two on the night’s Spike TV “UFC Prelims” special
following additional prelims on Facebook. It preceded the night’s
pay-per-view main card.
