Another one bites the dust.
A week after announcing that former DREAM champion Bibiano Fernandes signed with the UFC, the organization broke the news that the Brazilian will no longer be competing at UFC 149 due to an undisclosed injury.
Fernandes (11-3) was scheduled to meet Roland Delorme (8-1) in Calgardy, Alberta, Canada. No word just yet on who Delorme will now face.
This marks another blow to what was once a solid, sold-out card. The following is a list of all the main card fighters who have pulled out of UFC 149 for one reason or another: Jose Aldo, Erik Koch, Thiago Alves, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Shogun Rua, Thiago Silva, Michael Bisping. Fernandes wasn’t scheduled to fight on the main card.
As a result, the new pay-per-view lineup currently looks like this:
Urijah Faber vs. Renan Barao — interim bantamweight title
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cheick Kongo
Tim Boetsch vs. Hector Lombard
Siyar Bahadurzada vs. Chris Clements
Court McGee vs. Nick Ring (not officially announced as a PPV fight)
