Neither Ronda Rousey nor Liz Carmouche left anything to chance leading up to the first women’s title fight in UFC history. Both came in well under the 135-pound weight limit for their UFC bantamweight title fight on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
Rousey (6-0), the champion, came in at four-tenths of a pound under the limit at Friday’s weigh-ins (134.6). Carmouche (7-2) did her a pound better, clocking in at 133.6.
Two items of note from the rest of the weigh-ins: First, Lyoto Machida came in well under the light heavyweight limit for his co-main event against Dan Henderson. Machida weighed in at 202 pounds; Henderson was 205.
Also, Nah-Shon Burrell missed weight by nearly five pounds for his scheduled welterweight bout with Yuri Villefort in the show’s opener. Villefort agreed to accept the fight at a catchweight and will receive a portion of Burrell’s fight purse.
