Manvel Gamburyan vs. Cody Gibson
Round 1: Here we go, folks. This should be a fun night. Manny Gamburyan makes his bantamweight debut in tonight’s curtain jerker. Chris Tognoni is our referee. They touch ‘em up and we’re off. Gamburyan stalks Gibson to the fence. But exchange but nothing lands early. Gibson pumps his jab, tosses out a front kick, then pumps that left again. Gamburyan lunges inside but gets reversed and ends up on his knee, with Gibson clutching a front headlock. Quick scramble and Gamburyan gets hit in the nuts. First groin shot of the night out of the way early. We’re back. Gamburyan in stalk mode. He’s cut under his left eye. Wild spinning wheel kick misses for Gibson. Lots of potshotting here. Gibson finally cracks Gamburyan good and he’s hurt. Gibson pressures into the fence but Gamburyan drops levels and dives on a desperation double leg. He gets it. Gamburyan takes a moment while Gibson works to his feet. Heavy salvo of elbows and punches from Gibson but Gamburyan survives. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Gibson.

Round 2: Gibson pushing a heavy pace already. Gamburyan eats a hard combo then fires back. Wild exchange here! Damn, Gamburyan gets cracked in the nuts again, and that one looked bad. He’s hurt. Left kick right to the pills. Gamburyan pacing around the cage wincing in pain. Have to wonder if this one is going to continue. Gamburyan wants back in but he doesn’t look good. Whoa, Gibson drops him with a huge right! Gibson swarming and Gamburyan is trying to stay alive. Gibson gets it to the floor and starts slamming knees into Gamburyan’s side. Heavy salvo of rights for Gibson. Gamburyan eats them then rockets to his feet. He’s back in this. Gibson ducks under a wild right, then counters. Gibson connects with a hard one-one-two. Gamburyan ducks under a follow-up shot and Gibson loses his balance. They tumble into the fence. Gamburyan works for a double and gets it, dumping Gibson onto his back. Gibson tries to stand and Gamburyan latches onto a guillotine. Ten seconds left. Gamburyan squeezes with everything he has and coaxes out a tap! Wow. Crazy finish.

Manvel Gamburyan def. Cody Gibson via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:56 of round two

Jon Tuck vs. Kevin Lee
Round 1: Jason Herzog is our third man in the cage. Apparently Jon Tuck bleached his hair sometime between yesterday’s weigh-ins and today. Lee and Tuck collide in the center of the cage. Nothing lands, but Lee resets then blasts Tuck with a head kick. Tuck wades inside with a head kick of his own. These dudes are throwing! Right hook, head kick lands for Tuck. Lee lunges inside and tosses Tuck to the mat, but it’s brief, and Tuck climbs to his feet. After some in-fighting, Lee gets him back down. Lee working from inside Tuck’s guard near the fence. Lee postures up and Tuck swings onto an armbar! That was slick. Lee stands and we’re back against the cage. Aaaaannnnd there’s another nutshot. I see a pattern developing here tonight. Tuck taking a while on this one. Lee pacing impatiently. We’re back. Tuck goes high and misses. Big exchange inside as Lee bulls Tuck into the fence. Lee working for a double but can’t complete it. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Lee.

Round 2: Immediate Tuck low kick rides up and smacks Lee in the nuts. Geez. Lee shakes it off, then cracks Tuck with a right. Lee pressuring forward winging heavy shots. Big uppercut lands for Lee. Hey, guess what? Another kick to the pills. This time Lee is the recipient. And, strangely, Tuck gets a point taken away even though his groin got obliterated last round. The fight resumes as Lee bulls Tuck into the cage, then digs a few uppercuts to the body. They trade jabs. Lee changes levels and finishes a big slam, landing in half guard. Tuck quickly reclaims his guard, but eats a few short elbows. Tuck throws up a triangle and he might have it! Lee breaks out then tries to unload from the top, but Tuck throw up an armbar instead! It’s close enough to pull Lee back into his shell. Herzog stands it up. Lee mixing it up on the feet to close the round. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-8 Lee, only because of that awful point deduction. (20-17 Lee.)

Round 3: Lee the aggressor early. Tuck tries to come inside but eats a heavy left in the process. Lee blasts Tuck with a combo that dislodges his mouthpiece. That was wild. Tuck tried to catch the mouthpiece out of the air, failed, and suffered a swarm of punches from Lee because of it. Lee gets Tuck to the mat, while Herzog rushes over and pops the mouthpiece back in Tuck’s mouth. Super bizarre sequence there. Tuck is bleeding bad. Lee goes to work from top position. Lee stands briefly, then dives back into Tuck’s guard. One minute left and Tuck needs to do something desperate. Lee keeping a steady pace working short punches and elbows. That’s all she wrote. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Lee. (30-26 Lee.)

Kevin Lee def. Jon Tuck via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-26)
