Round 1: Marc Goddard is the referee. Stringer immediately goes for a double and plants Maldonado on the mat. Stringer working from half guard on top, landing occasional elbows and other short shots. Stringer moves to three-quarter mount and after a few struggles, hits the Homer Simpson sweep. They stand and Stringer puts him immediately back on the mat with a trip. Round ends there. Not a lot of action to speak of.

Round 2: Stringer presses Maldonado into the fence, but they eventually separate. The Brazilian eats a few leg kicks and then eventually succumbs to a double. Maldonado reverses and is working from Stringer’s full guard. The Brazilian is working an arsenal of ground and pound to the body and head and Stringer looks like he’s having difficulty find solace. Stringer doing nothing but covering up and the referee’s seen enough. He stops it.
