They touch them up again. Big pop for Cain Velasquez, who’s cageside. As Werdum tries for a kick, Hunt cocks back and throws a huge punch that misses! Wow. But now he drops Werdum with a straight right hand. Hunt, once again, allows Werdum to get back up — conserving energy. A couple of pushkicks from Werdum. Now he tries a spinning high kick and Hunt pushes him down! Hunt just controlling things right now in moments he’s not headhunting. An exchange there initiated by Hunt, and Werdum counters well. Hunt back to center. Crowd is pouring it on for Werdum, their adopted son. Hunt takes an enormous knee right to the face! Now he pounces as Hunt turtles up! Hammerfists coming in volume! Dean is hovering, and now he calls it off! Werdum is the interim champion. Wow! After getting hit with some big shots, the Brazilian was able to methodically time out a knee that landed flush to the left side of Hunt’s jaw, and he went down in a crash. Werdum followed him in with punches, then hammerfists, then more punches until Dean intervened.
