Round 1: John McCarthy is the referee. Both fighters are orthodox and immediately take center of the cage, although it is Ferguson who basically takes it first. A right hand from Trujillo drops Ferguson, but the fighter survives as he scrambles to his feet. Trujillo chases him, but Ferguson manages to get away. Ferguson throws an outside leg kick, which Trujillo uses to catch and score a double. With butterfly hooks, Ferguson forces a stand up and moves away in the clinch. Another right hand from Trujillo stumbles Ferguson, but he’s still applying pressure. Another body kick from Ferguson is caught by Trujillo and he scores a takedown. Ferguson frames for an armbar, but Trujillo escapes and rains down hard shots. Ferguson forces a stand up and El Cucuy is back to pressuring while switching stances. Ferguson’s long jab stings Trujillo. Jump knee by Ferguson misses before the final bell.

Round 2: Ferguson starting to chip away at Trujillo. He’s landing leg kicks and jabs. Trujillo shoots, but Ferguson stuffs it and frames for a d’arce, but lets it go. He moves for an opposite kimura, but falls away. He lands an upkick off of his back and stands, then presses Trujillo into the cage. Trujillo is in trouble and drops for a takedown, but can’t get it. Ferguson with almost two hooks in, but doesn’t need it. He wraps the choke as Trujillo’s left hand was lazy. From there the squeeze gets the job done.
