UFC 196: Conor McGregor responds to Aldo’s call-out: ‘That’s the sign of a loser’

Conor McGregor hits back at José Aldo’s post-UFC 196 reaction on social media.

It did not take long before Conor McGregor found out about Jose Aldo’s post-fight comments about UFC 196.

Moments after McGregor was handed his first UFC loss by Nate Diaz via second round submission, Aldo immediately called out “The Notorious” for a rematch at UFC 200 in July.

During the post-fight press conference, McGregor responded by once again pointing out how Aldo turned down the UFC’s offer of being Rafael Dos Anjos’ late replacement.

“He had an opportunity to show up here, and he didn’t,” McGregor said. “He could be sitting where Nate is sitting right now. He was the first choice. He said ‘any time, any place, anywhere.’ And then, it wasn’t ‘any time, any place, anywhere.’”

McGregor has often put Aldo in question, whether it was about skills or being a champion. Evidently, it remains unchanged, especially after the latter’s post-fight comments on social media.

“Now, another man gets a victory over me, he celebrates it. That’s the sign of a loser. That’s the sign of a runner-up. That’s not the sign of a champion.”
