Jon Jones can breathe easy knowing he won’t be facing a probation violation after he was pulled over and cited for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle without a license last month (details here).
Or at least that’s one version of what happened back on Jan. 31, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
According to a statement given to FOX Sports by Kayla Anderson — the public information officer from the Second Judicial District Attorney’s office — Jones will not be facing any violations on the probation he was handed after last year’s hit-and run accident.
“Our understanding is that this will be dealt with by a sanction at the probation level, and we will not be filing a formal probation violation.”
“Bones” is signed up to face current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in a much-anticipated title fight on April 23 at UFC 197 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight will be a rematch of their original encounter back in early 2015, which saw Jones defeat Cormier to retain his 205-pound title via unanimous decision.
Jon is scheduled to appear in court for his recent transgression on Weds. (Feb. 10, 2016). To get caught up with Jon’s latest legal — albeit slight — woes click here and here.
