After it was all said and done at UFC 197 — which went down on April 23, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada — there was plenty of thrill and agony to go around.
Sharing in the joy was Jon Jones, who won the interim Light Heavyweight title after he defeated Ovince Saint Preux after five rounds of action in the headlining bout (see it again here). For “Bones,” it’s on to a title unification match against Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 on July 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Despite a valiant effort, “OSP” was left in agony after coming up short in the biggest fight of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career.
Also, check out Demetrious Johnson’s unmatched elation as he inched closer to his goal of surpassing Anderson Silva’s title defense record (which sits at 10) after knocking out wrestling powerhouse Henry Cejudo in the very first round (watch it).
