With UFC Fight Night 88: “Almeida vs Garbrandt” in the books — full results here — Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is all set for its next pay-per-view (PPV) event.
And it’s a big one.
UFC 199 is set to go down from The Forum in Los Angeles, Calif., on June 4, 2016 and will feature a middleweight title bout between division kingpin Luke Rockhold taking on late replacement, Michael Bisping.
“The Count” got the call up after Chris Weidman was forced out of his title fight rematch against Rockhold with an injury (read all about it here).
With a win over Bisping already under his belt, Rockhold goes into his first title defense high on confidence. Bisping, though, isn’t shy in that area, either, as he looks to make the most of his first-ever shot at the strap. An opportunity a decade in the making.
And with nothing to lose, Bisping goes in with no pressure whatsoever.
In the co-main event of the evening, bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will finally settle their differences in a much-anticipated trilogy fight. Plus, Dan Henderson and Hector Lombard will trade bombs in what is sure to be a hard-hitting affair.
