Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is giving Dan Henderson first crack at newly-crowned middleweight champion Michael Bisping in the five-round main event of the UFC 204 pay-per-view (PPV), locked and loaded for later tonight (Sat., Oct. 8, 2016) in Manchester, England.
Bisping (29-7) captured the crown by knocking out Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 back in June. It was his fourth straight win and came on the heels of his unanimous decision victory over Anderson Silva at UFC Fight Night 84. So how did he end up paired off against Henderson?
Because “Hendo” flattened him at UFC 100.
In addition, the longtime slugger — who hasn’t won back-to-back fights in almost five years — is something of a fan favorite. His destruction of Hector Lombard last June proves the 45-year-old power puncher, with a career record of 32-14, can still pack a wallop.
