UFC 208 — which is set to go down inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Feb. 11, 2017 — is starting to shape up nicely, as an intriguing Lightweight bout between Jim Miller and Dustin Poirier has been added to the pay-per-view (PPV) event.
The promotion recently brought word of the booking — as well as several other matchups for the card.
Miller is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, most recently taking out Thiago Alves at UFC 205 last month via unanimous decision. Prior to that, the hard-nosed brawler defeated Joe Lauzon and longtime veteran Takanori Gomi.
Poirier, meanwhile, is coming off a first-round knockout loss to Michael Johnson this past September (see it here). The loss ended “Diamond’s” previous win streak of four which he racked up after moving up from Featherweight.
A win over Miller could get him back on track and back on the title hunt, while a loss could prove disastrous.
UFC 208 is expected to be headlined by the first-ever women’s Featherweight title fight, as former Bantamweight champion Holly Holm will face Germaine de Randamie in the historic bout. Also, Derrick Lewis returns to face Travis Browne in what is sure-to-be a hard-hitting Heavyweight affair.
