UFC 212 video preview: Jose Aldo vs Max Holloway – ‘Inside the Octagon’
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Jose Aldo and current 145-pound interim titleholder Max Holloway will collide in the UFC 212 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this Saturday night (June 3, 2017), inside Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Aldo (26-2) was named division champion after former titleholder Conor McGregor was stripped of his belt last year. Before that, Aldo claimed the interim strap with a win over Frankie Edgar at UFC 200. That came after the Brazilian lost his championship to McGregor via first-round knockout at UFC 194.
Holloway (17-3) captured the interim featherweight title with a win over Anthony Pettis at UFC 206 last year. He became the first fighter to stop “Showtime” inside of the cage and extended his win streak to 10. Holloway was initially expected to fight Aldo at UFC 208 in February, but an untimely leg injury put him on the shelf.
