Now that UFC on FOX 26 is in the books — full results here — it’s time to look ahead to Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) next pay-per-view (PPV) offering.
And it’s a big one.
UFC 219 is all set to go down on Saturday Dec. 30, 2017 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will feature a women’s Featherweight title fight as division queen Cris Cyborg defendes her title for the first time against Holly Holm.
Holm — the former women’s Bantamweight champion — looks to earn her second tile in as many divisions, becoming the first-ever women to do so under the UFC banner. For Cyborg, her first title defense and win over Holly will secure her slot as perhaps the most dominant female fighter of all time.
If she isn’t already.
Also on the card, Khabib Nurmagomevo returns for the first time in over a year to take on sensational striking machine Edson Barboza in the co-main event of the evening. Khabib has yet to suffer a loss in his pro mixed martial arts (MMA) career, so it would be a huge feather in Edson’s cap if he can pull off he upset. For Khaib, a win is another step closer to earning his first-ever UFC title fight.
