Before Amanda Nunes defends her women’s bantamweight title at UFC 224, watch her knock Ronda Rousey out in just 48 seconds.
UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes attained the crown in the UFC 200 main event vs. Miesha Tate, but her first title defense was against the woman who’d dominated the division for years, Ronda Rousey. It was Rousey’s first fight since getting knocked out by Holly Holm, and the belt had changed hands multiple times in her absence.
With all eyes on the UFC 207 main event, Rousey got demolished again. Nunes picked her apart from start to finish, easily shrugged her off in the clinches, and got the knockout win in just 48 seconds. You can watch the video at the top of the page, with the fight starting at around the 3:55 mark.
Here’s how Tim Burke described the fight:
Round 1 – Nunes with a right and a leg kick. Tagged Ronda twice! She’s backing off! Another right! Ronda getting beaten up! She’s trying to fire back. More big shots! Ronda is barely on her feet! THE REF STOPS IT!
Amanda Nunes defeated Ronda Rousey by TKO (strikes), :48 of round 1
