Take a look at the full fight card and bout order for UFC 225: Whittaker vs. Romero 2, which goes down on Saturday, June 9th in Chicago, Illinois.
UFC 225 is almost here! The Octagon hits the United Center in Chicago, Illinois for an absolutely stacked night of fights, including a main event championship rematch between middleweight titleholder Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero. Whittaker won the interim title vs. Romero last year, then was promoted to full champion after Georges St-Pierre vacated his belt. The co-main event is an interim welterweight title fight, as Rafael dos Anjos battles the ever-controversial Colby Covington.
Also on the main card is the debut of Invicta FC featherweight standout Megan Anderson, as she looks to impress and prevail against Holly Holm. Australian heavyweight prospect Tai Tuivasa gets the biggest test of his career in the form of ex-champion Andrei Arlovski. Opening the PPV broadcast is Chicago’s own CM Punk, as his second MMA fight will be against Mike Jackson.
As if that wasn’t enough, the prelims are stronger than several of the recent FS1 Fight Night events. Leading the televised portion of the card is Curtis Blaydes against Alistair Overeem, as well as strawweight contenders Claudia Gadelha and Carla Esparza. On Fight Pass, former light heavyweight king Rashad Evans returns to the weight class against Anthony Smith, while flyweight contender Joseph Benavidez and Sergio Pettis also square off. It’s an absolutely terrific card with tons of intrigue and plenty of reasons to watch.
