Check out the first episode of Embedded for UFC 226.
UFC 226 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s big supershow in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
Max Holloway arrives in Vegas, talking about how his last two fights were in cold locales and this one is way too hot. Daniel Cormier is doing his last day at AKA, talking about fighting heavier than usual and the adjustments that need to be made.
Over in Cleveland, Stipe Miocic is a couple of days out of heading to Vegas. He says this is the first time in a very long time that his wife won’t be at his fight with him, due to her pregnancy. And that he will be leaving to head back to her right after UFC 226. He sets up a crib and clowns around about his impending role as a father.
Back to the west coast – Torrance, specifically. Brian Ortega is working out at the Gracie academy. He discusses the differences between him and Holloway and how it’s a great “concoction for war”. Then we go back to Holloway, who is working out at the Performance Institute. He talks about the support he gets in Vegas, calling it “the ninth island” of Hawaii.
Ortega plays (and sings) “La Bamba” on his guitar with his guys around. He says he stole his first guitar when he was 17, because he couldn’t afford one. Then it’s off to surf. He thinks he finally got the proper respect after stopping Frankie Edgar.
Back to Cormier, who is playing soccer with some kids and AKA guys. He talks about the LHW division being marquee, but that the heavyweight title is the pinnacle.
And that’s it! UFC 226 goes down this Saturday in Las Vegas.
