The next Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) pay-per-view (PPV) offering will feature two championship rematches at UFC 227, which is set to go down from inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., on Aug. 4, 2018.
Headlining the event will T.J. Dillashaw defending his Bantamweight title against the man he took it from a year ago, Cody Garbrandt. The former teammates initially threw down at UFC 217 in Nov. 2017, resulting in a knockout victory for Dillashaw. When a super fight between Dillashaw and Demetrious Johnson didn’t come to fruition, the promotion opted to book the rematch.
As for “Mighty Mouse,” he will put his 125-pound title on the line against Henry Cejudo for the second time after knocking him out at UFC 197 a couple of years ago. Johnson has defended his title three times since, while Cejudo has gone 2-1 since the crushing defeat. He’ll look to make the most out of his second opportunity against UFC’s record-breaking champion.
Before then, get pumped for UFC 227: “Dillashaw vs Garbrandt 2” — which will also feature a a Featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Renato Moicano — by taking a look at the promotion’s second video to promote the PPV card.
