Conor McGregor is about to make history, yet again.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion, along with UFC 229 dance partner Khabib Nurmagomedov, will break the promotion’s live gate record in Nevada when they collide inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 6, 2018.

That’s according to a report from MMA Fighting, which also pegs UFC 229 as “the second most in-demand ticket in UFC history,” behind the UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) event, when McGregor stopped Eddie Alvarez in New York to become the “Notorious” champ-champ.

Dave Meltzer crunches the numbers:

The cheapest secondary market ticket on Aug. 27 was $636 for a single ticket, but to get two tickets together, the lowest price would be $726.75. The first few rows of ringside right now are on sale for anywhere from $5,000 with the few front row seats left going for $28,000 and up.

There are a few seats left at AXS tickets, but they are the first set of elevated bleachers going for $2,000 to $2,505. It’s not sold out as in there are some seats left on the primary market, but there are few.

If you want a seat, get ready to shell out some serious cash.

While we already knew McGregor was a bona fide star, shutting down Ireland and breaking PPV records left and right, the UFC 229 event represents his cage fighting return after more than two years away from mixed martial arts (MMA).

Which included a pit stop in the “sweet science.”

McGregor will attempt to recapture the crown he never lost while Nurmagomedov makes his very first title defense in not only the most profitable fight of his combat sports career, but also the most dangerous.

Just over a month to go…
