Check out the second episode of Embedded for UFC 230.
UFC 230 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the second episode for this weekend’s big show in New York City, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start things off at Daniel Cormier’s house – in the pool, to be exact. Because it’s a short camp, they’re trying to do workouts that don’t stress the joints as much. So more pool work it is. Derrick Lewis is doing conditioning drills, basically just running stairs.
Cormier arrives at JFK in New York and talks to some fans. Chris Weidman is doing a pad workout, and some ground and pound. It’s his last workout before the fight. I thought they said that in the first episode too. His buddy Gian Villante, fresh off a war with Ed Herman, takes a few jokes for his swollen face from Weidman.
We head on over to Jacare Souza’s house in Orlando. He’s been living there for about a year now. His wife helps him back while his kids play around him. He misses his family when he “goes to work”, but he hurries back to them when it’s over. He’s also quite happy that he got to fight Weidman in his hometown.
DC makes fun of his boxing coach’s hair before a media appearance. He talks about being able to beat Lewis on the feet. Then it’s UFC Unfiltered with Matt Serra and Jim Norton. He discusses getting to fight in MSG.
Lewis does some cryotherapy, where the lady talks about all the attention he’s been getting lately “about them hot balls”. Lewis says he’s about to cool them off. That was pretty funny.
And that’s it! UFC 230 goes down this Saturday night in MSG.
