Check out the third episode of Embedded for UFC 231.
UFC 231 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the third episode for this weekend’s big show in the Toronto, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
Right off the top, Max Holloway tells a hilarious story about someone coming up to him and saying that he looks like Tony Ferguson. Holloway shakes it off, and the guy then asks him if he’s heard of the UFC. Holloway doesn’t give himself away, but says that people that like the UFC sometimes thinks he looks like Max Holloway. The guy stares him down, but only partially agrees. He still thinks he’s more Ferguson-like. Holloway didn’t even correct him.
I liked that a lot.
Down in Florida at Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s house, she jokes around and shows off her shirt that says “I never ______ you anyway”. The Shevchenko sisters talk about doing everything together in Toronto. Mike Brown gets stopped by security (again) on the way to Toronto. Joanna greets some fans.
They show some Valentina Shevchenko training footage, and a teammate talks about her speed and aggression. Brian Ortega arrives in Toronto fearful of the cold, but his team doesn’t think it’s too bad. Well, most of his team. One guy has earmuffs on pretty much immediately, to the amusement of everyone else.
Holloway gets some cupping done on his back in his hotel room. Justin Gaethje greets Ortega at the hotel and they shoot the breeze. Nina Ansaroff makes an appearance, telling Joanna that she signed all over her on the posters because there was no room. Not on the face though.
Joanna checks out some of her Reebok gear. A jeweler gives Shevchenko a bullet pendant, which looks cool. Ortega tries on his shorts and tests out his wrestling on a person standing by.
And that’s it! UFC 231 goes down Saturday night in the Scotiabank Center in Toronto.
