On the UFC 236 PPV main card, Dwight Grant won a split decision over Alan Jouban, and Nikita Krylov submitted Ovince Saint Preux.
The UFC 236 PPV is in-progress, and Alan Jouban and Dwight Grant just went the distance in a rather sticky affair. When the dust settled, it was Grant who walked away with the split decision victory. Grant now enjoys back to back wins within the promotion. Opening up the main card, Nikita Krylov came up with a second-round submission of the UFC’s #12 ranked light heavyweight Ovince Saint Preux in their rematch. Krylov tied up the series one a piece, with each man owning a submission win over the other.

Main card:
Dwight Grant def. Alan Jouban by split decision (29-28 x2, 27-30): Welterweight
Jouban pressed forward right away, clinching up against the cage. Grant avoided being taken down and started swinging wildly. Grant started to connect but Jouban wore the blows rather well. Jouban started to pressure again, scoring a few strikes before time ran out. Grant went back to swinging wildly to start the second act, with Jouban blocking most of them but still absorbing the power. Jouban moved forward, but wasn’t really moving his opponent in the same way that Grant was moving him. Jouban made his way into the clinch, but Grant quickly returned to open space.
Jouban continued to press forward without many strikes, and Grant continued to sling haymakers, with a lot of them missing. An accidental cup kick landed to Grant, causing a pause in the fight. The bout resumed and a lot of calculating went on, resulting in many boos. Jouban scored a last second takedown before time ran out.
Nikita Krylov def. Ovince Saint Preux by submission (RNC) at 2:of round 2: Light Heavyweight
Krylov bounced around early, looking to bang. OSP shot in for the takedown, but Krylov stood back up. With his back to the fence, Krylov worked for a guillotine for a bit, but wasn’t able to find open space. OSP ended up on top and started to pass. Hammers dropped from full mount for OSP but Krylov miraculously managed to get back up. Krylov pressed forward behind his strikes in the second round, but struck his way right into the clinch. Krylov ended up taking OSP down, and even took the back. After a few elbows, Krylov attacked the neck. OSP fought off the RNC, at first, but ultimately tapped out.
