We were cruising right along at today’s UFC 237 weigh in event (get early results here) and I foolishly thought we’d make it to the finish line in one piece. Alas, merely wishful thinking on my part, as the promotion was recently forced to reshuffle the pay-per-view (PPV) main card.
That’s because the lightweight showdown between Diego Ferreira and Francisco Trinaldo has been scratched, according to MMA Fighting correspondent Guilherme Cruz, though no specific reason was provided. It should be noted that Trinaldo weighed in at 154.5 while Ferreira never made it to the scale.
That means the UFC 237 main card will promote a featured bout from the ESPN or Fight Pass “Prelims” to fill the hole (see the full fight card here). No word on who gets that bump just yet, but no doubt the promotion will want to get that squared away sooner, rather than later.
Until then, catch up on all the latest UFC 237 news and notes right here.
