On the 11th of May, 2019, the UFC put on their UFC 237 PPV event brought to us from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The card featured a Strawweight Title Fight between ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas, with a record of 8-3-0 — against Jéssica “Bate Estaca” (aka: ‘Pile Driver’) Andrade, with a longer 19-6-0 record. They were both coming off of three-fight winning streaks. Also of note on the card, was the co-main event with middleweights Jared Cannonier vs Anderson Silva, as well as a highly anticipated battle between former champion José Aldo and upcoming contender Alexander Volkanovski, and in the prelims an OG fight between Clay Guida vs the controversial B.J. Penn.
