Check out the betting odds for Saturday’s UFC 239 event, where featherweight champ Max Holloway is favored over Frankie Edgar.
A rare double dose of PPVs this month for the UFC. Jon Jones and Thiago Santos battled for the light heavyweight title back on July 6th. And now, UFC 240 kicks off this Saturday from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Bloody Elbow has the betting odds.
At the top of the billing is a world-class featherweight title fight between the defending champ Max Holloway and the UFC’s former lightweight king, Frankie Edgar. Holloway is substantially favored here with a moneyline of -370. As for Edgar, the only time he was a bigger betting underdog than his current mark of +310 was when he fought BJ Penn in their first battle, many many moons ago.
The over/under for this 145-pound championship bout has not yet been set. However, the oddsmakers do envision this one ending early. The prop bet “Fight doesn’t go to decision” owns a favored line of -180, with a +140 comeback on “Fight goes to decision.” The champ Holloway is the fighter pegged to bring this one to a close before the final bell. “Holloway wins inside distance” is available with a favored line of -150, with “Not Holloway inside distance” at +115. On the flip-side, “Edgar wins inside distance” clocks in at a major underdog tag of +536, with “Not Edgar inside distance” insanely favored at -1007.
After dropping her featherweight crown to Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg returns to action in the UFC 240 co-main event to take on Canada’s own Felicia Spencer. At 20-2, Cyborg has seen her fair share of long betting lines—and her UFC 240 odds are no exception. The MMA pioneer is once again heavily favored, this time with a moneyline of -580. Her 7-0 counterpart in Spencer is the largest betting underdog of her young career. The former Invicta queen comes up at +450.
Neither Cyborg nor Spencer are keen on going to the scorecards, and the odds reflect it. The prop bet “Fight doesn’t go to decision” is wildly favored here at -750—with a +450 comeback on “Fight goes to decision.” It’s not everyday that Cyborg is favored to finish inside the distance… oh wait, yes it is. “Justino wins inside distance” is tracking at -460, with “Not Justino inside distance” at +320. Going back the other way, “Spencer wins inside distance” owns a big ol’ fat dog tag of +606, with “Not Spencer inside distance” at a massive -1217.
The UFC 240 main card will air live on Pay-Per-View (ESPN+) at 10:00 P.M. ET with the prelims starting at 8:00 P.M. ET on ESPN. The exclusive Fight Pass prelims will begin at 6:30P.M. ET.
