On the 17th of August, 2019, The UFC went to the Honda Center in Anaheim, California to bring us UFC 241, a sold out PPV (Pay-Per-View) event, via ESPN+. The event featured a HeavyWeight rematch bout of the Undisputed Reigning HeavyWeight Champion of the World, Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier, defending his title against former champion, contender Stipe Miocic, who surprised all the naysayers and Cormier fans busting out with a flurry of punches in Round 4 and defeating ‘DC’ via KO/TKO, becoming our new Heavyweight Champion of the World. We had a co-main event with battling WelterWeights – the returning Nate Diaz just swarming Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis relentlessly to a solid victory, via Unanimous Decision. This, following an impressive MiddleWeight fight ending with Paulo ‘Borrachinha-The Eraser’ Costa defeating Yoel ‘Soldier of God’ Romero, via Unanimous Decision, as well.
We also had Sodiq Yusuff defeating Gabriel Benitez with a right, followed up with some ground & pound for a KO/TKO win in the first round, after Derek Brunson overwhelmed Ian Heinisch in the Main Card opener, winning via (you guessed it) a Unanimous Decision. We had a lengthy total of nine decisions on the twelve bout card tonight…
