Check out the betting odds for Saturday’s UFC 242 event from Abu Dhabi, headlined by lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. interim prince Dustin Poirier.
It’s fight week for UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi and Bloody Elbow is here to serve up the betting odds.
The high stakes main event will pit the 27-0 undefeated lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, against the worthy 25-5 interim champ, Dustin Poirier. The moneylines have the undisputed king heavily favored over the interim prince. Since opening up as a stout -400 betting favorite back in June, the Dagestani’s moneyline has fluctuated a tiny amount up and down, but really hasn’t budged in a meaningful way. As for the American challenger, Poirier started out with a +280 underdog line, and has since puffed up to a more attractive mark of +350.
Will the UFC 242 main event see the duration of all-five scheduled rounds? The oddsmakers set the prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ with a favored line at -175, with ‘Fight goes to decision’ opening at +135. So the bookies have pegged this one to end early, but which fighter is favored to finish? The undisputed champ is, that’s who. The prop line ‘Nurmagomedov wins inside distance’ is available at the slightest of favored values, -105. Going back the other way, ‘Poirier wins inside distance’ owns quite a fatty underdog tag of +450.
More elite lightweights will be showcased in the UFC 242 co-main event when the #7 ranked Edson Barboza and the #10 ranked Paul Felder run it back one more time. The first time these proficient strikers went at it was at UFC on FOX 16 way back in July of 2015. Back then, Barboza opened up as a -175 betting favorite to Felder’s dog tag of +135, with the Brazilian taking the unanimous decision. This time around, not much has changed in terms of the moneylines. Barboza’s UFC 242 betting life once again started out at -175 with also Felder once again opening at +135. Could it be possible that fans are in store for the same exact awesome sort of fight? Probably.
When it comes to the UFC 242 co-main event, the bet-setters opened up both sides of the inside the distance props with minus lines. ‘Fight goes to decision’ started out at -130, while ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ began at a less favored -105. Since then, the coin has flowed in on behalf of Barboza vs. Felder 2 reaching the scorecards, sending that line down to -160 and the early-ending value up to +125.
