Check out the first episode of Embedded for UFC 242.
UFC 242 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s big show in the Abu Dhabi, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off with Dustin Poirier arriving in Abu Dhabi. 21 hours of travel. Yikes. He received a warm welcome at the airport, and doesn’t feel like he’s in “hostile territory” at all. He intends to show off his skills and shock the world on Saturday.
Things stay with Poirier, as he’s working out in a local gym. Coach Mike Brown talks up his fighter’s cardio. Poirier says he feels the time change, but every day is getting better. He continues with the motivational talk.
Back at the airport, we see Edson Barboza arriving. It’s his first time in Abu Dhabi and he has friends there, so he’s excited. He jokes around with his teammates a bit. Paul Felder talks about his 12-hour flight from Chicago directly to Abu Dhabi. He says he has nothing against Barboza, but he wants to get that win back.
We see Khabib Nurmagomedov for the first time, as he’s watching his dad work out. Teammate Dan Ige talks about them adjusting their training schedule. Khabib talks about how big the event will be. Khabib’s dad talks about being in charge of his training and avoiding injuries.
And that’s it! UFC 242 goes down this Saturday morning in Abu Dhabi.
