Check out the final bettings odds for UFC 247, where light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, is favored over his challenger, Dominick Reyes, in the main event.
UFC 247 fight day is upon us, and will take place tonight (February 8th) from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Both the promotion’s light heavyweight and women’s flyweight belts will be up for grabs in the main and co-main events. Bloody Elbow is front and center with the final betting lines.
As expected, the greatest 205-pounder of all time is the betting favorite in the UFC 247 main event. Jon Jones straight up can be acquired at a steep cost of -450. As for the challenger, Reyes comes with a hefty underdog tick of +450. Again, thus far Jones has been the only one to defeat Jones, and Reyes’ best win against a top light heavyweight is a split decision over Volkan Oezdemir. He isn’t exactly battle tested is what I’m saying.
The over/under for this light heavyweight title fight has been set at 2.5 rounds. The ‘Over’ is favored with a moneyline of -162, with a +147 comeback on the ‘Under.’ The bookies don’t believe that the UFC 247 main event will be going the distance. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ sits at a favored mark of -175, while ‘Fight goes to decision’ is hovering around +145.
The current champ is the one that the oddsmakers foresee coming up with the finish. The exotic option ‘Jones wins inside distance’ is favored with a moneyline of -125, with ‘Not Jones inside distance’ resting at -105. Going back the other way, the prop for Reyes ending the fight comes with a thick underdog tag. ‘Reyes wins inside distance’ is available at +525, with ‘Not Reyes inside distance’ percolating at a whopping -860. We’ve witnessed Jones win in a variety of ways, from early TKO’s to late subs, and also by five-round decisions. Reyes typically finishes his wins early with strikes, but who knows how Reyes will perform in deep waters, because he’s never gone a full 25-minutes.
The UFC 247 co-main event will be a tilt for the women’s flyweight strap. As of Bloody Elbow’s midweek betting odds write up, the defending champ, Valentina Shevchenko, was a massive favorite sporting a moneyline of -1100 to Katlyn Chookagian’s +700. Since then, Shevchenko has dropped down a bit to -855, with the challenger slumping down to +670.
The over/under for this 25-minute title fight has been set at 4.5 rounds. The ‘Over’ prop is favored here at -187, with a +169 return on the ‘Under.’ The odds-makers project this one lasting all five-rounds. The prop option ‘Fight goes to decision’ owns a favored line of -195, with ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ under-dogging at +160.
The bookies envision that the current flyweight queen will be taking this one on the scorecards. ‘Shevchenko wins by decision’ comes with a favored moneyline of -150, with ‘Not Shevchenko by decision’ possessing a slight underdog tick of +120. As for Chookagian, her getting the judges’ nod involves a massive underdog tag. ‘Chookagian wins by decision’ is on deck with a line of +1080, with ‘Not Chookagian by decision’ at an astronomical -1950.
