Check out the sixth and final episode of Embedded for UFC 247.
UFC 247 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the sixth and final episode for this weekend’s big show in Houston, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start out with Jon Jones and his team grabbing lunch. He wants to put all the trash talking to rest and get it done. He is encouraged by looking at some videos and pictures his daughter has sent him. He then goes to a gun store. Texas, bruh. I’m Canadian, gun love is creepy to me. To each his own though.
Weigh-ins times. Katlyn Chookagian is 124.5. Valentina Shevchenko is 124.5 as well. Jones is singing before he weighs in. He’s 204 on the scale in the back, and he’s 204 on the official scale as well. He asks the media how they’re doing and talks about his great weight cut with everyone. He’s very relaxed and chatty. He does the back pose for everyone on the scale. Ilir Latifi is 246.5. The Sledgehammer is beefy. Derrick Lewis is 261.5. Dom Reyes is one of the last on the scale, but he’s 205.
Chookagian is in her hotel room working on her hair. She tells a really funny story about her braids falling out in a middle of a fight, and the ref telling her cornerman Mark Henry to get it sorted out between rounds. He has no idea how to deal with women’s hair though, especially in the middle of a fight, so he just put his hand on top of her head and…that’s it. He had no clue. Lol.
Ceremonial weigh-ins. Except for James Krause, who is actually weighing in legitimately. That’s a fighter right there, much respect. They show the two title fight combatants facing off. Shevchenko and Chookagian shake hands. Jones won’t even look Reyes in the eye.
And that’s it! UFC 247 is about to go down!
