Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added a couple more bouts to its UFC 248 slate, which is set to go down on March 7, 2020 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to MMA Fighting, Alex Oliveira will face Max Griffin in Welterweight showdown in “Sin City.” Alex was originally lined up to face Mickey Gall at UFC Fight Night 169 on Feb. 29, but the fight was unexpectedly scrapped.
“Cowboy” is in desperate need of a win having lost three in a row to Gunnar Nelson, Mike Perry and Nicolas Dalby. A win over Max is crucial if the longtime UFC veteran wants to hold on to his spot on the UFC roster. Griffin, meanwhile, is coming off a tough loss to Alex Morono and is just 1-3 over his last four UFC bouts.
Also, jiu-jitsu ace Rodolfo Vieira will look to go for his second straight UFC win as he is lined up to face off against Saparbek Safarov in Middleweight action.
UFC 248 currently features a women’s Strawweight title fight between champion, Weili Zhang, defending her belt against ex-title holder, Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Also on the card, former 185-pound champion, Robert Whittaker, will face Jared Cannonier in a pivotal bout.
