Neil Magny just dominated Jingliang Li in a unanimous decision on the UFC 248 PPV main card.
UFC 248 rolls on with the welterweight division, and Neil Magny just schooled Jingliang Li for the majority of three rounds to take the unanimous decision. Magny won the standup battle, the clinch war, as well as owning it on the ground. Magny was away from the Octagon since November of 2018, and returned to action with a newfound jab to add to his typical endless gas tank. In his post-fight interview, the returning welterweight called out Michael Chiesa. Ladies and gentlemen, Neil Magny is back!
Magny pressured right out of the gate, but when he went to the Thai plum, Li got a brief takedown. Magny stood back up just to get rocked with a haymaker. He responded by securing a takedown of his own, but Li was quick to stand back up. Li went back to the takedown, but Magny pushed him away with his legs to stand back up. Magny landed some strong knees to the body, and even scored with his jab!
Magny opened the second stanza with his stinging jab followed by a flying knee. Li went back to the takedown, but Magny was having none of it. From the clinch, Magny was controlling and racking up points with clean punches. Li really struggled to escape the grind. Magny broke away and started to pour on some volume with the his punches before the bell.
Li came out winging heat in the final round, but Magny used his footwork and jab to address that aggression. The jab of Magny was relentless and landing at will. When the fight moved to the fence, it was Magny who was leading the dance. He even scored a takedown with about one minute left in the bout. Magny racked up some more strikes before the bell sounded.
