Time to separate contenders from pretenders in the bantamweight division.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is beefing up its upcoming UFC 250: “Nunes vs. Spencer” pay-per-view (PPV) line up, scheduled for Sat., June 6, 2020 inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joining the ESPN+ fight card will be the bantamweight showdown between Aljamain Sterling and Cory Sandhagen, according to MMA Junkie. Sterling (18-3) is the winner of four straight, including last summer’s victory over Pedro Munhoz. Sandhagen (12-1), meanwhile, has captured seven in a row, recently topping Raphael Assuncao in Anaheim.
Elsewhere on the card, 135-pound wunderkind Sean O’Malley will make his second appearance this year when he collides with longtime veteran Eddie Wineland, ESPN reports. O’Malley (11-0) was last seen beating the brakes off Jose Alberto Quinonez back in March. As for Wineland (24-13-1), he hasn’t competed since starching Grigory Popov at UFC 238 last June.
UFC 250 will be headlined by the women’s featherweight title fight pitting Amanda Nunes against Felicia Spencer. Elsewhere on the card, Devin Clark and Alonzo Menifield collide in light heavyweight action while Ian Heinisch and Gerald Meerschaert go to war at 185 pounds.
