Check out the midweek betting odds for Saturday’s UFC 253 event, where Israel Adesanya is favored to retain his middleweight title against undefeated challenger Paulo Costa in the main event.

UFC 253 takes place this Saturday (September 26th) from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE with two titles swaying in the balance. The marquee matchup will be for the UFC middleweight championship when current king, Israel Adesanya, defends his throne against the ridiculously scary, Paulo Costa. Before that, the card’s co-main event will see the UFC’s #1 rated light heavyweight, Dominick Reyes, lock horns with the #3 ranked, Jan Blachowicz, for the promotion’s vacant 205-pound strap. Bloody Elbow is here to hit you with the betting lines for these bouts plus the rest of the UFC 253 show.

The oddsmakers have sided with the champion in the main event and expect him to retain his middleweight belt. The 19-0 undefeated Israel Adesanya is currently available at a favored offering of -170. That leaves the flawless 13-0 Paulo Costa in the underdog slot with a +150 moneyline. Those odds seem a little wide with both fighters being undefeated and both combatants seeming to be unstoppable.

According to the betting lines, this 25-minute affair will not be making it all-five rounds. What a big shocker that turned out to be considering that Costa has only gone the distance once in his professional career, and Adesanya has knocked out 14 of his 19 victims. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is trending around the -215 mark, with a +165 comeback on the ‘Fight goes to decision’ option. Something to keep in mind, though, is the fact that both Izzy and Paulo are tough, durable, and have proven to be quite difficult to put away. Adesanya is battle tested in a 25-minute setting, and while Costa’s gas tank did hold up in a wild three-round war with Yoel Romero, his driving range in championship rounds remains a mystery.

In the co-main event, the bookies are forecasting Dominick Reyes to be crowned the next UFC light heavyweight champion. Reyes’ straight up moneyline comes with a strong favored cost of -280. As for Jan Blachowicz, he is one of the card’s biggest betting underdog’s and can be acquired for a value of +240.

Just like the UFC 253 main event, the co-main is also expected to end early. With a price tag of -230, gamblers can lock in the exotic bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision,’ or opt for the ‘Fight goes to decision’ prop at a dog tag of +170.
