Check out the second episode of Embedded for UFC 254.
UFC 254 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the second episode for this weekend’s big show on Fight Island, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off at the quiet W Hotel in Justin Gaethje’s hotel room. He talks about growing up in a tiny town, and how being in Abhu Dhabi with his parents is surreal. His coach talks about the type of wrestling they’re training for Khabib.
Out in the beach Octagon, Jared Cannonier is doing to some visualization. Walt Harris jokes around with him as he walks away. Walt isn’t worried about anyone looking better than him , because he says he’s cute. And has a good personality. Michael Chiesa walks by, and says him to Ben Henderson and Cannonier.
Back in Gaethje’s room, he opens some sort of food in a cup, but can’t eat it due to the weight cut. He’s having problems putting the lid back on. He says that being the first man to beat Khabib is even more important than winning the belt. He also thinks that Khabib’s fans are the most toxic in the sport other than Conor McGregor’s. He likes being the underdog.
Robert Whittaker shows up to do some media. He’s on Fight Island for the second time. Whittaker thinks he matches up with Cannonier well, and that his weight cut is going great so far. He basically says the same things in the next interview. He has a bit of a chat with Gaethje. Gaethje says the interim belt means nothing, and the real challenge is Khabib.
And that’s it! UFC 254 goes down this Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
