Check out the midweek betting odds for Saturday’s UFC 256 event, where flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo, is favored to best Brandon Moreno in the main event.
UFC 256 is cleared for takeoff this Saturday (December 12th) from the promotion’s apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company’s flyweight crown will be up for grabs in the main event when the current king, Deiveson Figueiredo, welcomes the UFC’s #1 ranked 125-pounder, Brandon Moreno. Bloody Elbow is here with he betting lines for this championship contest, as well as for the rest of the UFC 256 roster.
The oddsmakers like them some Fig here. The flyweight king is being offered up with a heavily favored moneyline of -300, with Moreno trending as a +250 underdog. That means a $100 bet on Deiveson would payout $133.33, and the same size bet on Brandon would payout $350.
Fig is proving to be quite the problem. After suffering his lone loss to Jussier Formiga, Figueiredo posted up five-straight wins including choking out Tim Elliot, stopping Joe Benavidez twice, and then strangling Alex Perez less than three weeks ago. Moreno is unbeaten in his last five outings, and is clearly worthy of a title shot, but he hasn’t showcased the same sort of dominance and finishing ability at the top that Fig has. These odds check out.
Last week, we discovered that former UFC heavyweight champion, Junior dos Santos, was a hefty +300 underdog to the 6-0 Ciryl Gane, who was at -400. Since that writeup, Gane has pushed out a bit further as the favorite, now on deck at -420, with JDS now residing at around +335. What a fall from grace! The tightest line on the UFC 256 card belongs to middleweights Jacare Souza and Kevin Holland. Online gambling site 5Dimes.eu had Holland originally opening up as a -175 betting favorite to Souza’s underdog tag of +135. Now, both combatants are on the table at -110 respectively.
