See what happened on the scales ahead of the second third UFC flyweight title fight in two weeks.
The UFC remains landlocked at their APEX facility in Las Vegas, NV. This weekend’s event, UFC 256 (stream it here), stars Flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo… just like UFC 255 did two weeks ago.
At the last event Figueiredo defended his 125 lbs title versus Alex Perez. On that card Brandon Moreno beat Brandon Royval to become the number one contender. With both men coming out of their fights unscathed, they get the quick turnaround.
The co-main event sees the return of Tony Ferguson, who was last seen in a loss to Justin Gaethje right at the beginning of the pandemic. He faces Charles Oliveira in a fight that should, on paper, by a barnburner.
With a title on the line Figueiredo and Moreno will need to make weight without the 1 lb allowance. So there could be some late drama on the scales. The ever-present spectre of COVID-19 might also have some twists and turns up its sleeve.
The weigh-ins can be viewed here. The video stream starts at 12 PM ET and comes courtesy of our friends at MMA Fighting.
There will be no ceremonial weigh-ins for this event.
