UFC 257 final odds: McGregor fancied to KO Poirier

Take a look at the final betting odds for UFC 257, where Conor McGregor is favored in the main event to defeat Dustin Poirier for the second time, and Dan Hooker is favored to spoil Michael Chandler’s debut.

It’s fight day! UFC 257 is finally here with the year’s first PPV event happening tonight from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. The top of the card will be getting an explosive rematch between former featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, and the UFC”s former interim lightweight champ, Dustin Poirier. The co-main event will see the promotional debut for “Iron” Michael Chandler, who meets the UFC’s #6 lightweight, Dan Hooker. Bloody Elbow is here to bring you the final betting odds for these top-shelf contests, as well as for the the rest of the UFC 257 lineup.

Currently, the best available moneyline on McGregor is going for -290, with a wining $100 ticket paying out $134.48. As for Poirier, right now his most lucrative line on deck is +275, with a successful $100 gamble bringing back a total of $375.

Conor is a heavy betting favorite over Dustin. That’s the way it was the first time these two fought way back in 2014, it’s the way it was when the odds first dropped for the rematch, and it’s the way it has stayed throughout the entire lead up to today. The betting public and oddsmakers are together on this one, but there have been several small wagers on Poirier — although nothing substantial enough to meaningfully shift the line.

UFC 178 saw McGregor dust Dustin in just 1:46 into the opening round, and the common consensus seems to be that history will repeat itself tonight. After initially opening up with a slightly favored line of -155, the prop bet ‘McGregor wins by TKO/KO’ has dropped down into the -230 range, with ‘Any other result’ trending at +170. As for Dustin, the proposition ‘Poirier wins by TKO/KO’ is situated deep into the underdog forrest, rooted around the +605 mark, with ‘Any other result’ severely favored at -1215.

The UFC 257 co-main event involves a much tighter betting line than the main event. Hooker is currently available with a slight favored value of -140, with a $100 bet potentially earning a $171.43 payout. As for the UFC noob, Chandler’s straight up moneyline clocks in with a small underdog tick of +130. That means a winning $100 bet would bring back $230 altogether.

Hooker has the high ground here as he already has quality wins over the likes of Paul Felder, Al Iaquinta, and the now welterweight title contender Gilbert Burns. We have seen the New Zealand native falter against elites like Edson Barboza and Dustin Poirier. On the other side, Chandler terrorized the Bellator promotion during his tenure there. Granted, “Iron” Mike wasn’t facing the best of the best of the best, but outside of getting caught by Patricio Pitbull Freire (no shame), and that wonky leg injury against Brent Primus, the powerhouse has gone 9-2 in his last 11 outings.

This should be an interesting clash of styles. Dan’s rangey kickboxing and lethal knees on the inside against the best wrestler he’s ever faced with the biggest overhand of all previous opponents. Do you think that this three-round affair is going to end early? Well, both prop bets surrounding this question are currently holding minus lines. The option ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is slightly favored at -120, with the ‘Fight goes to decision’ prop not far behind at -105.
