Promotional newcomer Michael Chandler just ran right through Dan Hooker in the UFC 257 PPV co-main event.
The UFC 257 co-main event was the setting where promotional newcomer, Michael Chandler, had his coming out party by stopping the #6 ranked lightweight, Dan Hooker, in just half-a-round. Chandler was aggressive right away and landed a huge left hook behind a body cross that put Hooker down, and then he finished the job with some savage ground and pound. What a way to make a splash at the top of the UFC’s lightweight division. In his post-fight interview, he called out EVERYONE in championship contention.
Chandler pressed forward right away as Hooker skirted along the outside, launching low calf kicks. Chandler wasn’t able to connect at first because of how far away Hooker was, but started to find a way. He unleashed a monstrous left hook that flattened Hooker, and pounced with fight-ending ground and pound to seal the deal. Wow!
