Check out the fifth episode of Embedded for UFC 259.
UFC 259 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fifth episode for this weekend’s huge show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off at UFC Apex with Israel Adesanya, who is doing a remote interview with Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik. DC asks him why he still has a chip on his shoulder despite all he has accomplished already. He says he likes having it. DC tells him that he’s been upgraded to a five-star fighter in the UFC video game, one of six. He’s given a necklace for it.
Aljamain Sterling shows up at Apex. He does some media, and he’s super excited. He says there’s nothing like the Octagon. Now it’s Petr Yan’s turn. They take some photos. Amanda Nunes now, baby in tow. AlJo says hi to the kiddo. Nunes says fighting is harder than parenting. She takes the kiddo into the Octagon and goofs around.
Over at the Performance Institute, Kai Kara France does some work, then Izzy gets in there. His coach talks about opponent Jan Blachowicz. Izzy compares his team showing up to soldiers going to war.
Blachowicz time. He’s playing ping pong with his teammate. He says that on his team, it’s fine if you lose at sparring. But if you lose at ping pong, “you f—ked up”. Lol. Jan has come off like the nicest guy on this Embedded so far. He blames his ping pong loss on his focus on the fight. He is complimentary of Adesanya, but he thinks he’s going to KO Izzy with a high kick in the second round. Khabib! He says he’s really excited for their fight and wished Jan luck.
Megan Anderson does a light workout. Yan is on the treadmill, starting the weight cut. Mike Brown says that Nunes is still improving.
And that’s it! UFC 259 goes down TONIGHT in Vegas!
