Check out the second episode of Embedded for UFC 262.
UFC 262 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the second episode for this weekend’s big show in Texas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start things off in the same place as the first episode, Sanford MMA. Henri Hooft is laying out the plans for the week to Michael Chandler, which ends with him taking the lightweight belt. Chandler approves. Sean Soriano is there as well. Chandler talks him up. Chandler likes being on a great team. Hooft tucks a U-Haul blanket in his chest protector while they work pads. Soriano is excited for a second chance in the UFC.
Chandler is at home. His wife bought him a snickers bar right before he got the call about the title fight, so he had to cut short a vacation and get back into camp. Which meant no Snickers. He has kept it for two months and will eat it right after the fight. He shows off the jock that he’s had for 20 fights. Odd. He also shows off his Missouri wrestling singlet, that he still trains in. He FaceTimes with his son. His son says he’s gonna “win a big belt”.
Beneil Dariush has started his weight cut. He grabs a coffee and heads to the treadmill for a run. He liked fighting with no crowd in Apex, but the Jacksonville show was special and he can’t wait to fight in front of people now.
Chandler heads to Houston. He chats with the flight attendants. People on the plane apparently recognized him, according to his teammate. He loves Texas. Charles Oliveira walks by him as he’s checking into the hotel. He nods politely.
And that’s it! UFC 262 goes down this Saturday in Houston.
