Reigning UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has touched down in Phoenix, Arizona, to get acclimated to the desert air for his upcoming UFC 263 pay-per-view (PPV) title fight in nearby Glendale, which takes place this Sat. night (June 12) inside Gila River Arena.
“We’re just out here at Pro Edge in Phoenix, Arizona, taking in this Arizona air, desert air, because it’s not something you’re used to,” Adesanya said on Episode 1 of the UFC 263 “Embedded” video blog. “You need to get here and get used to that sting, if you know what I mean. If you know, you know.”
Adesanya will put his 185-pound title on the line against longtime rival Marvin Vettori. “The Last Stylebender” won a close split decision over “The Italian Dream” when they first went to war at UFC on FOX 29 back in early 2018, also in Glendale.
