McGregor has bounced around weight classes during his UFC tenure, entering the promotion as a featherweight.
It was at 145 lbs when McGregor first met Poirier. Back in 2014 the Irishman TKO’d the American in the second round to pave his way towards a UFC featherweight title run.
The second time these two met it was in the lightweight division. In January Poirier got revenge over McGregor, finishing the fight also by second round TKO. That was the first stoppage due to the strikes McGregor has ever suffered in his UFC career.
McGregor looked stoic on the scales, which is far different from how he appeared at the press conference last night. At that event McGregor screamed trash talk in Poirier’s direction and even tried to kick his opponent during the face off.
Let’s see what happens when they face off again momentarily.
